Prince William Set to Attend COP30 Climate Summit in South America

Prince William is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in Brazil in the coming weeks, according to royal officials.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday evening at a gathering leading up to the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

The royal pair were participating in the scientific institution event, marking an rare public appearance together at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the UK government.

Environmental Advocacy Dedication

The King has been a long-time champion of environmental conservation - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil before the UN meeting.

Royal sources have characterized the Prince's participation at the next COP as assuming an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the official car, were greeted participants featuring environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This participation included speaking together with President Emmanuel Macron of France and other world leaders at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco in recent months.

The COP30 summit will dovetail with the William's personal Earthshot environmental awards, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the day before he joins the climate conference on November 6th.
