The carrier will offer free fast in-flight internet by way of Starlink partnership

Passengers flying with British Airways will soon access high-speed wifi during flights without charge following a recent partnership from Elon Musk's satellite firm.

Free plus Fast Wifi for All

The carrier revealed that the complimentary, “fast and dependable” wifi service via Starlink will be available to passengers flying coach, business, or first class from next month.

Widespread Implementation Over Multiple Airlines

The parent company of the airline, the airline group, announced it had reached an deal involving SpaceX to provide wifi access on over 500 jets within its carriers, including the Irish airline, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.

Smooth Connectivity from Gate to Landing

British Airways stated that the rollout of this technology was included in a seven billion pound “transformation” program and will offer smooth connectivity service for passengers from boarding through arrival, including when they are flying across seas and remote regions.

Travelers will be able to link several gadgets and do not need a unique password.

“Gamechanging for British Airways as well as travelers, elevating the journey during flights on BA through providing them seamless connectivity throughout the flight.”

Current Connectivity Services

Limited wifi service remains available for British Airways travelers across the majority of the airline's jets through the .air platform.

Enrollees of the airline's reward scheme may send texts plus text-only emails onboard at no cost, whereas flyers looking to access audio, movies, or content throughout their flight if not travelling in premium cabins might pay from £4.99 to £21.99 per internet plan.

The provider uses a system of thousands with orbiting devices and is managed under the billionaire's aerospace firm.

Latest Developments for the Airline

Their management has been striving to turn the airline again following a long time with budget reductions, system failures, strikes, and large-scale layoffs.

British Airways explained that application of artificial intelligence has assisted the airline to achieve their on-time performance to the best levels since 2012.

Earnings Outlook

Earlier this year, British Airways disclosed a rise in earnings during the first six months of the year, contributing to its owner profit to grow.
